Submission Guidelines
Statecraft welcomes unsolicited submissions from writers who wish to critically analyze both niche and mainstream phenomena and events in the international relations of South Asia. Opinion pieces must be original, argumentative pieces that offer unique arguments, which are rigorously corroborated using facts and data.
Statecraft is committed to highlighting the relationship between the politics of South Asia and the world, while also challenging deeply entrenched Western and Eurocentric biases in the global news industry. If you believe you have a unique argument that enhances the understanding of a political, economic, or cultural phenomenon, and is relevant to a Global South audience, please e-mail us at contact@statecraft.co.in with a brief description of your argument in about 200 words. Your pitch must answer the following questions:
- What issue will you be looking at and why is it important?
- What are the questions you are seeking to raise or answer?
- What are you saying that hasn’t already been said?
- How will your piece advance or contribute to current discourse on this topic?
Also attach a copy of your article, which should ideally be between 800 to 1500 words. All submissions must be thoroughly proofread and must be grammatically correct and coherent.
All editorial decisions rest solely with the Statecraft editorial team. We thoroughly edit submissions to this site for clarity of language and conformity to our style, but otherwise contributed articles are the sole work of their authors. Contributors assume responsibility for confirming the factual content and originality of their pieces. We require the full disclosure in all articles of any potential conflicts of interest arising from funding, employment, or other reasons.
We look forward to hearing from you at contact@statecraft.co.in.
