On Tuesday, the Indian High Commission in Malé strongly criticized Maldivian Defence Minister Ghassan Maumoon's accusations regarding an unauthorised helicopter landing by Indian military personnel during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration. The Commission stated that Indian aviation operations in the Maldives consistently adhere to established procedures, and the emergency landing was conducted with prior approval due to unforeseen circumstances.


On Tuesday, Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch condemned the “anti-Pakistan” rhetoric of several Indian leaders, including PM Narendra Modi, amid the ongoing electoral campaign in India. Rejecting the statements, Baloch asked India to stop dragging Pakistan into its domestic politics for electoral gains and to handle sensitive strategic matters with the utmost caution.


On Tuesday, the 11th India-Norway Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) were held in New Delhi. The two sides discussed ways to expand and diversify bilateral cooperation in various fields, including the blue economy, renewable energy, climate and environment, and green hydrogen.


Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Joseph Wu urged the World Health Organisation to allow Taiwan to attend all meetings, emphasising the goal of “Health for All.” He called on the WHO’s Director-General to invite Taiwan as an observer to the upcoming World Health Assembly. Wu stressed Taiwan’s need for full participation in all WHO activities to uphold health as a basic human right and achieve universal health coverage.


According to confidential findings by UN sanctions monitors, North Korea funnelled $147.5 million through the Tornado Cash virtual currency platform in March, following a theft from a cryptocurrency exchange the previous year. The monitors disclosed to a UN Security Council committee that they investigated 97 suspected North Korean cyberattacks on cryptocurrency firms from 2017 to 2024, totalling $3.6 billion.


On Tuesday, the UK’s foreign ministry summoned the Chinese ambassador to express disapproval of alleged Chinese espionage and cyber attacks. Foreign Minister David Cameron instructed officials to meet with Ambassador Zheng Zeguang to condemn what was described as Chinese-backed activities.
